Mother's Day Weekend

We decided to get away for Mother's day weekend and take a little trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo! Last time we were there, Bella was 10 months old and I was about 8 months pregnant with miss Lyla. It was hot and miserable for me, but I remember that we had some of the closest encounter ever with all the animals which made the trip well worth my misery. Bella loved that zoo and somehow remembers going there. I will do a whole post someday on how crazy Bella's memory is from when she was a baby. She tells us things all the time that she remembers and they are things we know we haven't talked about. We got her a book from the zoo when she was  a baby and that book has a picture of all the animals there and their names. She has loved that book for years and when we told her we were going to the out of town zoo we took her to years ago, she got her book out and started preparing to go visit all the animals in it.

She made plans on the animals she wanted to see first and the ones that were her favorite. We had such a fun time together. Great memories made. They took me to dinner at PF Changs after and we had some awesome food. We ordered 4 different delicious plates and we all shared. We took Route 66 home that evening so we could see all the neat stuff along the ride. We stopped in Arcadia at this really neat place called POPS! They have every soft drink you could ever imagine. They even carry the soft drink I grew up drinking in Brazil called Guarana. It is the most delicious drink ever in my opinion and with every sip, I am reminded of my childhood living in Brazil.

We let the girls pick out whatever they wanted and sure enough, Bella found a strawberry lemonade pop, which is her very favorite drink, and Lyla picked out a blueberry pop. Blueberries are like candy to Lyla. She eats about 2 trays per week. We all sat outside under the stars just listening to the music and drinking our pop. It was a really awesome night. Jonathan and I sat back and watched our girls laughing and dancing under a  beautiful starry summer sky. It was one of those moments you tell yourself to freeze into your memory.

My little diva proud of her cup she won playing the hippo toss when we got there!

There is nothing more than glass between me and this huge beast! It made me a little nervous to hear him roar

This gorgeous Mountain Lion is native to Oklahoma! Beautiful animal

He was so sweet and probably Lyla's favorite!

First time to really get a good look at a Giraffe. They were so friendly and kept coming closer and closer.

My favorite! Loved watching them swim. Made me miss Sea World!

Lyla stood at the aquarium forever, just watching the fishies. She loves fish!

So glad I caught this beautiful shot of my precious little girls. They love each other so much. So sweet!

We let them pick a stuffed animal of their choice on our way out. Bella picked a zebra and named her Maleah. Lyla picked a Hippo and named her after the actual Hippo they had named Matilda.

This is a picture of the new Elephant exhibit they have recently built. It was so incredible. The elephant just had a baby and she is three weeks old and weighs 300 lbs. She was the cutest little thing ever. I was too busy enjoying her to take pics and the windows were filthy so they would'nt have turned out anyway.

Here they are at POPS excited to drink their pop.

Here is a picture of the giant pop. The girls thought it was the coolest thing ever as it changed colors.
